Shred Some Serious Slopes at Apex Mountain Resort

If you live locally and you haven’t been to Apex Mountain Resort, now is your chance to experience their incredible champagne powder and relaxed mountain culture.

Apex Mountain Resort receives the perfect mix of large amounts of precipitation combined with low humidity to create the perfect snow that the mountain is famous for. And, because Apex is the only mountain in the Okanagan that faces northeast, those beautiful powder snow crystals are less affected by the sun – so dry powder snow can survive for days after a snowfall.

With an average of 600 cm of this special snow falling each season, Apex provides the moderate winter conditions and dry power snow craved by skiers and snowboarders alike.

With plenty of options for apres activities, you can easily spend a couple of days exploring at Apex. No trip up to the resort is complete without skating the infamous adventure skating loop – a 1km trail that winds through alpine forest for a truly magical experience.

For the young (and the young at heart) enjoy the tube park or play a game of hockey with your core bubble at the local rink. Afterwards, swing by the Gunbarrel Saloon – rated the number 1 Apres Ski Bar in Canada, for a warm bite or one of their famed cocktails.

The village at Apex Mountain Resort

Apex is just 40 minutes from downtown Penticton, so you can explore all that there is to offer in the South Okanagan – right here in your own backyard.

Know before you go: Face coverings are mandatory in all public indoor and outdoor spaces at Apex ensuring that you stay safe (and warm!) this winter.

Be sure to review all COVID-19 protocols from Apex Mountain Resort, including their COVID-19 video guide to make sure you are prepared before hitting the hill!
